 FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Who is Louise L. Hay?

Louise Hay is a well-known international lecturer and teacher, and the best selling author of numerous books, including ‘You Can Heal Your Life’, which has sold over 30 million copies worldwide. A 20th Anniversary Edition was released in February 2004. She has helped millions of people in gaining an awareness of how the mind can impact on one’s health and well-being, and offers practical techniques to assist in personal growth through using the full potential of one’s own creative powers for self-help and self-healing.

What are the philosophies of Louise Hay?

Some of the main points are as follows:

  • We are each responsible for our experiences.
  • Every thought we think is creating our future.
  • Everyone is dealing with the damaging patterns of resentment, criticism, guilt
    and self-hatred.
  • These are only thoughts and thoughts can be changed.
  • We need to release the past and forgive everyone, including ourselves.
  • Self-approval and self-acceptance in the “now” are keys to positive changes.
  • The point of power is always in the present moment.

Who trained you?

I completed all the requirements to obtain workshop leader certification, and also completed an advanced training course in 2003. Heart Inspired Presentations granted the certification. The leaders of this organisation are Patricia Crane, Ph.D., and her life-partner Rick Nichols. They are committed to helping people worldwide to reach for their full potential, through love, laughter and inspiration. For over 20 years Patricia has been developing and leading inspiring workshops. She has been privileged to study with leading metaphysical teachers of our time, including Louise Hay, Deepak Chopra and Marianne Williamson. In 1988 Patricia was personally chosen by Louise Hay to lead her “Love Yourself, Heal Your Life” workshop nationally and internationally. This workshop has evolved into a successful international training programme, training over 1,000 teachers in the last ten years. In addition to leading this programme, Patricia and Rick also offer other workshops on the mind-body spirit connection, prosperity, meditation, and healing breathwork. Patricia holds a Ph.D. in Social Psychology, is a student of “A course in Miracles” and a Reiki Master.

What happens during a typical day or weekend course?

It may be a cliché, but life is really what you make it. Most of us are not even aware of our negative thoughts, beliefs and attitudes; let alone realising how we subconsciously may be stopping ourselves from having a happy and fulfilling life and reaching our true potential. By using effective techniques you can become aware of, and start to eliminate what may be holding you back and discover how to improve and create the life you want. You will get to know your inner child, begin to understand your family dynamics and connect with your inner self. You will look at dealing with your limiting emotions such as anger, resentment, guilt, and fear; and also work on the forgiveness of past hurts. Whilst one cannot deny the existence of such emotions, by allowing anger, for example, to continue to fester you are really allowing the cause; be it a person, thing or place, to continue to control your life. However, when you forgive or release someone who has hurt you, you stop him or her from having any power over you. Forgiving yourself for past mistakes (which are nothing more than valuable ways of learning) also allows you to have a more positive and happy life.

What techniques are used?

These are effective, proven and simple. You will begin to learn, or develop, meditation and creative visualisation – seeing what you want to happen, before it actually does happen. With the help of affirmations, that is strong positive statements, you will discover how to retrain your thinking and speaking into positive patterns. Over time you will re-programme your thought patterns to accentuate the positive and eliminate the negative. Mirror work is another valuable tool, as mirrors reflect the feelings we have about ourselves and clearly show us the areas that need to be changed. A combination of these techniques, and participative exercises, create an atmosphere to bring about change in order to improve and create the life you want.

Why do I need attend your course/s when I have read
Louise Hay's, or similar books?

From my own experience people often need help and support on their own personal journey. It always seems to help when you discuss the information with someone. You can receive guidance and this, in turn, increases your self-awareness. How often do you tend to read self-help books without actually getting the full benefit of your reading? Attending a course, such as those listed on this website, together with the inter-action with other like minded people, or on a one to one basis, can focus the mind and help you to actually experience the ‘work’ in a caring and supportive environment, thus enhancing your own personal growth and learning.

Where are the courses held?

Generally courses are held within the locality of Bolton, Lancashire at an excellent venue with good facilities and secure parking. They are informal and relaxed.

What is the cost?

How much will it cost not to value yourself? The two day group weekend course is £145 (subject to confirmation) and includes all course handouts etc. To secure a place payment would be appreciated by cheque, with a non-refundable deposit of £35 by the latest two weeks prior to the course, the balance being due on the day at registration, or preferably earlier. Details of dates and other course costs are available on request.

What is the typical size of group and who attends a course?

The maximum number of people attending a group course would be 8. I feel it is important for participants to feel comfortable and to thoroughly enjoy the course. Courses are open to anyone, men and women. No prior experience is necessary – all you need is a willingness to be open and receptive to change and to participate fully.

What do I need to bring and wear?

You will need to bring a notebook and pen for taking notes, and a hand mirror. Refreshments for breaks will be provided. Please bring something for lunch. It is best to wear comfortable clothing.
